Artist Olafur Eliasson and architect David Adjaye were commissioned by Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary to conceive an environment in which ephemeral visual appearance and architectural formulations were created in "an interlocking equation." Inaugurated in June 2005 as an official project at the 51st Bienniale di Venezia, the pavilion has found an (im)permanent home on the island of Lopud in Croatia.> >

Ephemeropterae˜ Pavilion

The Ephemeropterae Pavilion, designed by London-based architect David Adjaye is the stage and suprastructure for the 16 weeks long Ephemeropterae performance season at the Augarten park. It is the second commission which engages the architect with TBA21’s pavilion project. The widely successful collaboration with Olafur Eliasson Your black horizon pavilion met with critical acclaim during its presentations at the Venice Biennale and its now permanent installation on the Croatian island of Lopud.> >

TBA21 presents the continued investigation into the unexplored universe of experimental sound utopias at The Morning Line – the “anti pavilion“ (10 meters high, 20 meters long, 20 tons heavy; 47 channels, 53 speakers; 10 performers, 2 days, three-dimensional sound) conceived by the artist Matthew Ritchie and the architects Aranda\Lasch and Arup AGU and transmitted via the multi-spatial audio system designed by Tony Myatt at the sonic landscapes of Schwarzenbergplatz.> >
